Throttle response is so much better, and the power is tremendous compared to stock! (BTW, fuel injection, not carb...) True, there are other ECU kits available, but for me, the convenience of Abbott America in my back yard, literally, has been wonderful. Dave Whitesides has done a great job by me.
When going with any ECU mod, you should also consider a freer flowing exhaust and air filter. K&N has a drop in filter that fits right in the stock air-box. I went with the Saab Sport exhaust purchased through Sports Car Service in Delaware on E-bay.
Good luck in what ever you do...
'97 900SET, Talladega Edition; Saab Sport 2.5" exhaust; Abbott ECU, springs, Viggen Rescue Pack; Forge BPV; AutoMeter boost gauge.
Past Saabs:

'74 99LE 3dr, sold
'84 base 900 3dr, traded
'88 900S 3dr, sold after 305,000 original owner miles...
