Hey, last week I had XM satellite radio installed in my '96 900S convertible and it's been so great that I wanted to let you know about it.
Basicly it's 100 channels of every kind of music you can imagine plus a bunch of news and sports, with 30 commercial free channels. Like cable tv for your car.
I was worried that it would be a pain to install a new XM-ready head unit because Saab stereos are so integrated with the dash. But Pioneer makes a unit that goes under the front seat and broadcasts to an unused FM station on your regular head unit. There's a little remote control that you can hold or stick to the dash that has the channel selector and displays channel names, band names and song names.
Had the whole thing professionally installed in a few hours last week and have been amazed at the quality and variety so far. It's $9.99/month.
Check out xmradio.com or post questions if you have them.
