1997 900s - idler pulley

Hi, I have a 1997 Saab 900S that I purchased a little over a year ago....
Seemed like a great deal at the time. Only 36k on it, looked good, road tested like a dream…
About a month later the problems started…. I could tell you stories that would make you hair curl!!!
Anyway, the latest nightmare is the Idler pulley went. Got the rubber burning smell for about 10 days or so. Little whiffs here and there, thought I was losing my mind. Then the big screeching noise and the smoke coming from the passenger side.
This was apparently the bearing as I still had a belt left and most of the pulley..
The garage replaced the idler pulley, tensioner pulley and the auto mic-v belt. (That what it states on the invoice)
The problem(s) the engine still sounds loud, seems to still be coming from the pulley system. When first started and it is cold (New England mornings) there is a whistling kind of noise. Very low, but it sounds like maybe a pulley or belt going around right? Car shudders when backing up, idle seems a bit off and when accelerating form low speeds car sounds very loud. Once high speeds are reached, it is not noticeable.
Question(s): What is it? Did they miss something or do something wrong?
Could something else have been damaged?
Thanks a Lot!!
