sprockets are worn out,sending lots of shavings trough the oilpump, wearing the pump out and possibly make the oilpressure relief valve stick.
My step would be to tow it to a good shop and have them remove oilpressure sender and hook up a manual pressure gauge, if pressure is down I would remove oilpump and relief valve and inspect for signs of wear.
