I ,and Dan T. I believe, both have VDO guages in the VDO mounting cups attached to the top of the dash, just in front of the A pillar and slightly to the right. The black steel U bracket attaches to the dash with double sided tape. The visabilty is pretty good and it does not get in the way. The lamp wires and pressure hose tuck down at the end the dash quite nicely.
A boost guage changes readings very fast and locating in other locations could be quite useless. If you are on boost, traffic situations can be changing very quickly! That is not when you want to be trying to read a guage that is in your ash tray. You need your eyes close to the road.
