I actually had very little trouble getting the vacuum line through the firewall. I currently have two amplifiers in the trunk so I had to get a 10-gauge wire through the firewall. I cut a hole in an unused rubber stopper that is about 10" above the brake. There was plenty or room to thread the vacuum line through this same rubber piece. I teed the vacuum line off the MAP sensor using three fittings that I got at Home Depot.
I mounted the pod to the a-pillar with the two screws that came in the pod kit (Autometer). The positive line I spliced into the dimmer switch as Dean mentioned. I used my Haynes Manual and spliced into the Grey/Red wire that comes out of the dimmer switch (please reconfirm this before splicing).
I can post pictures later, I have to go pick up my car from the dealer right now. If you remember my oil change saga, I took it there last night. They got the plug of in forty minutes and were able to screw in a new one. The total bill is $42.50. No too bad though.
