No its not hard. Drain at least 1/3 of the coolant. (difficult to do...just drain it all). The t-stat is located on the right rear corner of the head if you were standing in front of the engine. Remove the hose to the housing. Two bolts, diagonal from one another hold the housing on. Pull the housing off...there it is! Install the new one (it says "top" on it). Clean the inner surface of the housing as much as possible and reinstall with some form-a-gasket type sealer around it. I like to use "Right Stuff"...comes in a can like hair mousse..avail. at AutoZone or the like.
Torque these two bolts to 16 ft lbs. Reattach the hose and refill coolant...let run with the cap off until the fan turns on an then top it off.
