I have had a 94 900 2.3 for four years now and have definately done ALOT to keep it running well. There are indeed some glitches - the gear position sensor on an automatic (a lot of posts about it here), the catalytic converter suspension (gets broken from vibration in M94; needs to be changed to a 3-piece set); the lower parts of the doors - paint breaks off, headlamp wipers stop returning to the start position, antenna mast stops retracting.
Obviously, that's not the whole lot, and the normal wear and tear is not accounted for. SAAB has great character, design and ideas, but lousy subcontractors.
