On some alarms there is an immobilizer built in. So if you disconnect the alarm, you might not be able to start the engine!
Best try to find the likely fault first for sure. For a quick guide:
Some people have had current drains due to the booth light or interior light staying on. You can leave those switched off, and see if fault goes. If not, then:
Before testing, make sure the car interior and booth lights are OFF.
1. Get a digital multi meter.
2. Put it on the CURRENT range.
3. Remove a fuse in car car.
4. Put multi meter fuse conection points and note any current leakage.
5. Put fuse back.
6. Repeat steps 3 and 4 for every fuse.
7. Note that you'll get a raeding for the alarm and car stereo, since these draw current all the time.
Any readings that are high, are the areas to look at.
