The best way to approach these kinds of scratch or scuff repairs is to start with the most gentle solution and work up from there.

First step, try some Simple Green or 3M Adhesive Tar and Wax remover to try and remove most of the paint scuffs.

Then, using a 100% cotton towel or buffing pad, try some Meguiars #9 Swirl Remover (available at most auto parts stores) or similar product that takes out scratches and swirls. You want a very fine polish that isn't very abrasive.

As a last resort, move to the "buffing compound paste" but only if the previous steps didn't get it all out. Compound paste is more abrasive and can cause light scratching or swirls. It's best used with an orbital buffer and then followed up with the Swirl Remover noted above.

If all else fails (or you don't want to do this yourself) take it to a body shop or paintless dent removal shop and for around $100 they'll make it disappear...
