I base my maintenance schedule on 200 engine hours and the average speed on the SID. Reset the SID and drive for about a month. check the average speed and multiply by 200. this will give you the mileage interval for oil changes.
Example:
The manual says to change the oil every 10K and 5K for rough service (a lot of stop & go)
25 MPH on the SID average speed would indicate a lot of city driving, 25 X 200 = 5000 mi oil change interval.
50 mph on the SID would be all highway driving. 50 X 200 = 10,000 interval.
You can change the number of hours you base your calculation on if you use synthetic and want a longer drain interval, try 300 to 400.
I change the tranny oil once a year. I switched to Castrol Syntec 75W-90. Shifting is much smoother than with the 10W-30 engine oil.
