THUNK in reverse, covered by warranty?

In the morning when first starting the car in the garage my 1998SET (57K miles) will give a hard THUNK when letting out the clutch in reverse. No matter how slow I try to engage it a good solid THUNK in the transmission will occur. It will only do it once, thereafter it is fine, but it does do it every morning without fail and seems to be getting worse. The car shifts ok otherwise just like every other SAAB I have owned (6 to date, 4 OG,1 9000S, and now the 900SET).

My car has the certified warranty which is good till 62K miles. I have heard the clutch is not covered under this "bumper to bumper" warranty. I tend to think that it is the pressure plate starting to go and as a result it is becoming a bit grabby.

What are other people's experiences with this? I don't want to be anal about this but if it is under warranty I wouldn't mind getting it fixed if it's covered.
