I have one that I got a year ago and have put on 20K miles since than. The transmission is a typical saab, basically you can feel the gears in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th.
Mine was Saab certified which really only means it's warranted until 62K miles. I have had the SID replaced (some of the dots started disapearing) and the serpantine belt and pullies replaced under warranty.
The car is powerfull and has been reliable otherwise. It is a bit of a luxury liner as compared to the C900, the leather seats do not wear well as mine are already showing signs of wear.
The breaks on the 98 model are supposed to be bigger and more powerfull but I think they are mushy even after having them checked and bled. The ones on my wifes 95 900s convertable feel much better.
The automatic climate control takes some getting used to, I guess after having it for a year I would have prefered knobs.
Would I buy it again, maybe, although I probably would have gone to a newer 9000 (I had a 92 9000S).
