I have installed my tap after the intercooler where the BPV connects, it was actually an easier job than I expected. I am happy with the results but have decided to do something different (than you) to compensate for the boost spikes. I am going to install a relief valve to the MAP censor (Dawes). I know the dangers of severing all ECU control of boost, but boost spiking lasts about a half second, and would not spike more than 17 psi before the waste gate opened. My goal is not to increase my boost beyond 15 psi, simply to stop fuel cut during boost spiking.
I think that relieving excess pressure is better than hiding it from the ECU, but I am on a tight budget and can not find an adjustable valve that I am happy with.
Other projects:
-Turn your BPV into a BOV for $15
Switch from BPV to BOV from inside while driving
-Digital Air/Fuel meter with back lit amber display for < $60
P.S. if you remember my picture that I posted of my new tap it is very convenient to have a screw valve to open and close the tap, so I can go back to my original setup in 60 sec. without removing anything.
