OK I have a new one for you all. I had the clutch replaced this summer. Lately I have had two problems which I am not sure are interrelated or not. When accelerating quickly between first and second the shifter would almost throw itself out of first. I haven't noticed this lately. However, I have noticed that for some reason when I am trying to shift quickly into second gear the car seems like it is intermittently slipping when I step on the gas hard after releasing the clutch. It doesn't rev up and smoke like it did when the clutch went. Instead it sort of catches and slips, catched and slips. It feels like your driving on a semi-ice parking lot. I also seem to hear a chattering sound from the lower right side of the car (Belts?) when I accelerate quickly. I replaced the idler pulley last week and the issue seems to have started since then. ( I checked the belt twice, inspected the winding path twice, dealer parts. It doesn't happen during the shift from 2-3, 3-4, 4-5. Then again the car is up to speed by then. It also doesn't happen when I rev the engine in neutral.

Any thoughts? Belt system, transmission, shifter adjustment, clutch, synchro? If it is the clutch I would like to know so that I can complain to the shop. If not I need to figure out if I need to steal the rest of my kids college fund to pay for this chronically sick car.
