More Clutch Questions/Performance Issues

This is somewhat following up a post from last thursday about clutch upgrades - has anyone put the hydraulic clutch kit in? I'm not having slipping issues, just the issue the cable clutch feels like garbage compared to any hydraulic clutch i've driven.
Any other suggestions to make my '97 900 T perform a little better? I've been seriously thinking about a suspension upgrade with lowering springs - I hate to admit it, but I'm really disappointed in the way this car handles. I was sold on saabs (previously owned a 9KT) until this car - i'm having some serious buyers remorse. I don't know that I want to go dumping any more power into it quite yet as I'd rather it go around corners first. I'm trying to figure out if its worth putting some money into this car to make it perform well, or getting rid of it and cutting my losses now. She's got only 40K miles.
Also - will a 9-3 Hatch fit a NG900?
Thanks for any help, comments appreciated.
