One of the rear shocks on my 1998 900S non-turbo (2.3l US federal spec) is leaking.

I am looking for a replacement. My immediate choice was KYB for its low price. However, I would like to survey people with relevant experience before I make the switch.

I am looking for reliability as number one requirement. If KYBs are unreliable, I don't want them.

I don't think I want to spend $280 on KONIs -- it seems to be a bit excessive. However, if people tell me that KONIs last forever and are way better, I may reconsider.

I have had some good experience with Bilsteins on my classic 900. Are they a viable option? Looking on bilstein.com, they list tow different model numbers for the 900 and the 9-3: BE5-2538 and BE5-2758 respectively. The 900 shock is listed as "HD" and the 9-3 version as "SP". Does this mean that the 9-3 version is "sport" and is valved for the stiffer, lower springs of the Turbo, as all of 9-3s are Turbo? I have the stock (soft) springs, so would the "HD" version have more appropriate valving for the softer sprung non-turbo 900? Can the 9-3 rear shocks even be used in a 900? Lastly, has anyone bought Bilsteins for their 900/9-3, wher, for how much and which model number? What are your impressions?

I am also considering Monroe Sensa-Trac, as I have had positive experience with them on other cars.

Any tips, opinions and, especially, specific information would be greatly appreciated!
