I am writing this because I am so happy with the way my 95SET is running now. The new upper strut mount/bearings has made a great improvement, but that was not hard as things where nasty. The ride and cornering are great. The engine is eager and smooth and with the winter air, power seems effortless. the brakes are smooth and work very well.

It is cool having 225000 km on a 6 year old vehicle and having it run like a dream with power and handling that is so much better than when new.

Currently on Blizzaks from 1995. They are at 1/2 of original tread depth and I find the handling reasonably decent.

95SET, 139000 miles

Stock SE springs, koni's at +1/2, VRK, SAS rear sway bar, Michelin Pilot Sports almost 2 years old, stock wheels and SE springs, K&N 33-2663, modified air box (funnel mod), throttle body transition casting stage II mod, MBC, piston type BPV for quiet operation, discharge silencerectomy, BMC tapped in middle of stock IC's return tube, KYB strut mounts and bearings, EBC green stuff V4 front pads, Metal Master Axxis rear pads, after market standard rotors, Mobil One, BCPR6ES11's at .035 which run almost deposit free on mosly commuter miles, Saab sports exhaust

Nice to have: Viggen IC, but not firm plans yet

Projects: Integrate a pop off valve near throttle body with hose clamp integration so that such a mod will be a basic DIY option for others... if it eats MBC pressure overshoots as expected. Waiting for warm weather. Maybe install a pressure regulator to create a wastegate actuator preload to improve the MBC's slew rate of the actuator.. to allow the MBC to be fed from the manifold. This should provide the best MBC performance and HP by minimizing the boost droop to that of the IC resistance and turbo characteristic.

Repairs:
-replaced both rear calipers (rebuilds) after one piston got stuck, bleed
-new rotors all around for mid life renewal
-rear seal leaked, replace seal + clutch kit and tray seals + Saab syn GB oil
-VRK installed by dealer, suspention was loose a 110000 miles
-DI cassette last summer
-Idler pullies as preventive maintenance
-coolant pump campaigned 1998
-coolant pump adapter o-rings last fall
-new lower hose and heat hoses waiting for nice weather
