I have a 97 900S that came without a CD changer or door speakers. I installed both, with crossovers to separate the dash tweeters from the door mid range. The problem is the CD button. When I turn the ignition off, the next time I start the car, 90% of the time the CD button on the radio will not work. The tuner and tape buttons always work.

To make the CD player work, while the car is on I have to remove the radio and unplug/replug the power. This of course is getting old.

I have found that when the CD is player is working, by pressing the disc button, then turning off the radio while the changer is switching discs, the next time I turn the car on the CD button will work.

Does my problem lie in bad wiring? The CD harnass was supplied with the car, so all I had to do was bolt the changer down and plug it in. Could the speakers & crossovers I installed be part of the problem? Thanks.
