I'm going to replace the brake light switch this weekend, but when I was trying to disconnect the old switch (the shift-lock wouldn't work, I needed to use the car) I broke off part of that little yellow plastic 'thang from the housing of the plug that goes into the switch. Can I pretend it didn't happen, or need I repair/replace it? On the face, it doesn't seem to connect anything. Thanks also for prior info on replacing the switch.
BTW, great site, whoever runs it, I just found it four days ago, have logged onto it about 25 times already, and have solved about 10 problems I've been having, I esp. look forward to stripping the cheap plastic off the door pillar, its been bugging me for years, why would they put that over good paint?
I go to a similar site for my BMW motorcycle, and all the comments are usually of a criticism of BMW service, quality, other riders, etc., with very few constructive tips. I like the tone of the comments here, "hey, no car is perfect, ours are quirky but lets have fun working on them"
Also, is there a way I can save the infor. on my computer (imac) given on this site?
