After 6000 miles, I still love the B+G and Koni setup. I can't imagine ever going back to a stock setup! The car is so much more fun to drive! Right now I still have the Konis on the softest setting and on smooth roads it's fine, however, it is a little harsh on bad roads (I live in DC). My girlfriend sometimes complains of the "sporty" ride but then again she is prone to motion sickness... One other negative is that the harshness amplifies some of the creaks and rattles in the car.
I did not do the work myself. I think I should have shopped for better prices--for me, labor was about $400 for all four shocks and struts. Looking back, I probably could have done the rears myself and saved a little bit of money. Others have posted labor rates at about $150 for both fronts and $60 for both rears.
I would definitely suggest replacing the strut mounts. It is a no cost to labor addition. And it is my understanding that the strut mounts and bearing do wear out. In my case, my right side strut mount was worn out and I had clunking noises going over bumps. Better to replace them and have peace of mind.
I have pictures and will be posting them as soon as I scan them. The car is noticeably lowered. To me it enhances the appearance of the car--to others it might be a little low.
