It's DEFINITELY the #55 (blue and yellow striped) wire from the Trionic box. I've checked and double checked the schematics and have posted this before on TSN. A couple people have taken my advice and cut the wire with no problems. This wire ONLY goes from the Trionic box to the shift up light and serves no other purpose.
I can see some people's objection to cutting a wire in the wiring harness... It's not easy to undo the job since there is no slack in the cable to be able to easily rejoin the wires. Plus, the connector is so jam packed with wires that it's hard to find just the right one.
Definitely tape up the ends of the cut wire with electrical tape so they don't short out on anything... And don't hold me responsible if you botch the job! ;-)
