Thanks to the board

Thanks for a timely tip after searching the board for possible root cause. Got into my 98 SE convert. yesterday; no sound at all while attempting to start. Totally dead. No lights, etc. Car was perfectly fine the previous day. Battery about 5 months old.
My first thought was a possible short - what was left on after stopping yesterday? Heated seats, rear defrost, etc. Oh, Oh, I may now get to sample that expensive Saab service I've heard about on the Board...
My second thought was to check the Saab Net Board. I searched on dead battery and came up with many entries. One mentioned the rear trunk light comes on if the lid is not closed. Went out to the car, the lid was unlatched and the light was on (dimly). I realized that I accidentally pressed the trunk button on the remote sometime yesterday and forget it until just now.
The light switch is now in the off position - and will stay there just in case. Only have had my Saab for about 6 months, and it certainly has it's design quirks - but no door or trunk unlatched warning signal is now on my list as "Why Not?".
By the way, this is the only problem I've had with the car since purchase. It has really great qualities and I'm really looking forward to top-down weather here.
Thanks you Board!!!
