Check the engine oil just to knwo for certain that it did not get any on their. Yes, I know the back of the vehicle shows an external leak.

The two heater hoses between the block and the firewall are the most prone to physical hose failure.

The OEM gear clamps perform very poorly on the smaller diameter hoses. Get all stainless steel clamps from the hardware store for any hoses that you replace. Tighen all of the other clamps, as the rubber has yielded under the clamps and the clamping forces are greatly deminished. These often leak, and mostly the smaller diameter hoses. Some pressurized hoses have been known to pop off, so tighening them up is a good idea. They can be difficult to get at.

You will be doing a system flush I hope, so running straight water to do the leak diagnostics makes sense. As long as you vehicle will not get exposed to frost!!!!

Search for drs<underscore>install and read my post on water pump R&R. Some good info there.

Saab antifreeze is $8US at the dealer. Otherwise, use Dexcool types. Flush thoroughly if changing coolant types! Or if you old coolant was not old, fill with 50:50 mix of the same coolant, if you know what it was. It is usually safe to stay with the same color of coolant. But you will be leaking this new coolant to find the leak, and perhaps loose a major amount of it with the repairs. But the stuff is cheap.. and toxic.
