new clutch slips, HELP!

Folks I need your help with my new clutch. I just completed a week long project of removing and reintalling my transmission. While I had the trans out I R&R'd the clutch, clutch cable, throw-out bearing, rear main seal, gear box drive shaft seals, and front brakes. Everything went to gether very smooth.
The problem is my new clutch slips under moderate excelleration. I tried the old "adjustment" of the clutch cable, by pulling the cable and re-seating the bushing on the firewall. That still did not fix the slipping. Does anybody have any suggestions?
I surely do not want to remove my transmission again!
the car is a 1997 900se with 102,000 miles
