Depends on vehicle age. 87K is not much for newer vehicle, but suggest lots of city driving in a older vehicle.
If the clutch will not slip you could live with it. If it can be made to slip, then replace it. This is expensive work! If you have the clutch replaced, also fit a new cable and and replace the engine rear seal.
If you can get going in gear at 3500 RPM, then depress the cluch and rev the engine and bring up the cluch slower than normal while going full throttle, so that there is some slip while lifting the clutch petal, then watch the speed and tach and listen, as you get fully off of the clutch, there should be no slippage. If you can get to sustained slipping at the peak torque band, 3500-4500 rpms, then the clutch is worn out. This is an abusive test. If you can force sustained slippage, stop as soon as you make that determination. Usually you can take it easy and contine to use a clutch in this state until you can make arragements for the work.
The clutch sees the same torque in any gear with your engine. Things happen too fast in the 1st two gears. So I suggest doing the test in 3rd gear. Your dealer could make this determination very quickly on a road test as well.
With a cable, you must be in the 1994 to 1997.5 model year range.
