Got to my idler pulleys just in time

Replaced both using the original bolts/washers. If anyone has ever installed that #40 torx screw on the lower pulley, my hats off to him. I tried and after about 5 minutes - tossed that mess. Although they weren't making noise that I noticed at 100k, the bearing was getting pretty loose on the bottom one, it was not far from toasting my belt. When I put back together - it was noticably quieter AND, now I don't have to worry about it for awhile. This is my second install of the belt (guess they last about 50k or so). It seems the lower and harder to get to pulley is the one that causes the most trouble.
A guy with a 95 NG900 at work told me of his horror story, idler seized, overheated engine, and blew the head gasket, all in all it cost him 800.00 for a dealer to fix. You can avoid this for 80.00 and not have to stand along the road like an idiot. Preventive maintenance can save you a lot of headaches.
One more thing, I removed the bearings from the old pulleys and found replacements at a bearing shop for under 6 bucks each, just like I used to do with my c900's. Now I have "spares".
Job took about 1 hour.
