Some are using MBC's with their modfied ECU's.. a few.
Try the BPC valve first.
With the MBC the wastegate adjustments are not very critical. With the BPC they can be.
I don't know how they determined that the state of the adjustment was. Did they drive the vehicle or just glance at the actuator?
If you were getting to the start of the red on the boost indicator while stock then it is probably fine the way that it is.
With the MBC, the MBC controls the amount of boost, not the WG adjustement. Actually, a softened WG adjustement might allow a MBC to reduce pressure overshoots and allow for a higher boost setting while avoiding fuel cuts. So it is not critical. With an Abbott ECU and BPC it is critical. With a stock system, it can be tighened up to provide for more a bitboost in the 1st two gears, but that will not in increase max boost.
Bottom line. There is nothing that you can do with the WG that will make your MBC provide more performance. Perhaps you got some bogus advice.
As for more performance, what other mods have you done?
