You have to open up the connection in the door. It is the thick harness that goes from the fender into the door. It opens by turning the round end on it, and then pulling them apart. Then you have to send the head-unit wire through the back-end of the coupling under the dash near driver foot (after opening up that connector), feed it through the harness, and push the small metal end into the coupling end that you unhooked in the door. The Saab sheet shows which port you insert the metal end into. There are a few empty ones in these connectors. Then you have to do the same for the door internals going to the speakers. This has to be done for each wire (there are 2 for each side--positive and negative). Time consuming to snake the wire under the dash, and into the harness (doing the harness is a bitch, I won't lie), but it is do-able.
I know the car is already pre-wired for the amp coming from the head-unit. It is clipped to the back-side of the interior kick-panel on the left side of the passenger foot well. Don't mistake it for the pre-wiring of the telephone. They look very similar, but only one will fit into the amp.
You will love the new sound. The amp puts out 40x2, and the system is already putting out 40x4. Very nice!!!!!!!
One caveat: my door locks buzz quite a lot ever since I installed the SE upgrade into the doors. There is a channel that the lock-mechanism bars should be inserted into. This might help the buzzing. Mine probably popped out of the channel.
DO NOT try to pull the door speaker grills off. They are held in with nuts on the backside of the door panel!!! They will break if you try to do this (one of mine did since I didn't know this).
