In my previous post, for the Explorer I am referring to the "white" color of the shock/strut body. White refers to the gas-a-just and they were not cheap. I got one year (almost 20K miles) out of them until the ride returned to the same poor rough ride I experienced before the install. I was so disgusted I left them in for another year before putting is cheap Monroe replacements and trading the car.
For my 900 SET I purchased the KYB GR2 reluctantly as I previously mentioned and now think that this was a mistake. I am in the process of buying strut for my wife's 850 Turbo wagon (sorry, I know this is Saab site) and I am going with Bilstein. While I have heard many positive things about Bilstein, I hear they ride a little harsh, so I went with the new Touring Class that has a near stock ride, but still offers Bilstein quality. I would comment more on these, but they are a new product launch for Bilstein and are on backorder for 6 - 8 weeks.
I live in the northeast and a good ride is important with potholes.
Hope my advice helps someone.
