Hi All,

I have my Saab 900S about 2 months now and today I was looking over the engine compartment and checked the Power Steering Reservoir. Well - it was well off the end of the dipstick!!. I consulted the Owner’s Manual and it stated to use only “Saab Power Steering Fluid 4634”. I rang the Saab dealer and ask if they had the fluid – they did - so went in and purchased a litre. While I was out I noticed the steering was making a noise while manoeuvring in an under ground car park. I stopped and was going to put some of the new fluid in. I dipped the reservoir with some white paper to see if it was green. The colour looks clear with and if it had any colour it would be slight brownish. So I decided to wait. I have searched TSN for 4634 and found nothing.

The new bottle of fluid has,

Saab power Steering Fluid – PSF CHF 11S Part Number 16-8996860 for:-

Saab 900 My 97 – Ch. No. V2022750- plus other Saab models

Does My stand for Model year? Mine is V2031172

Would the fluid PSF CHF 11S not look green after 5 years use?? I will not be using the car until tomorrow as I’m waiting for you replies overnight.
