ACC question and temperature sensors

I have just finished fixing up my ACC that has been tempramental for some time now. Unfortunately I'm not quite done. The blower works fine now after a good cleaning and oiling to get rid of a low pitched whine and a new transistor pack to fix a intermittent cut out problem. I also had to replace one of the motors that controls the position of the vents.
So now the fan works all the time and the air is going to the vents I want it to. My problem now is that the temperature is not being regulated properly. On LO the aircon kicks in and the cabin quickly gets frosty. As soon as I go above that I seem to get too much heat.
As I keep setting the temp higher the ACC responds by upping the fan speed and pumping out more heat but way too much of it. I cleaned the cabin temperature sensor already. The one above the cigarette lighter. The external temp sensor on the SID is indicating about 5 degrees C too low about 9 degrees farenheit. Could this be a factor? Also the rear defrost is kicking on when it shouldn't I assume this is due to the external temperature sensor.
Is there a way to test these thermistors ie resistance at a specific temperature? I heard they can recalibrate the temp using teh Tech II.
Thanks,
Bern
