Oil leak from clutch repair

I recently had the clutch replaced in my 1996 900S 5 speed, 4 cyl non/turbo at about 55,000 miles. It was at a shop that specializes in Saabs and European cars here in Western Washington, the closest Saab dealer is 1 1/2 away. But after the repair there was a little bit of an oil leak under the car. Never had a drop of oil leak from this car before. I took it back and the garage said it may be leaking from the oil filter that wasn't tight. Tightened it but still getting a leak so took it back again and they finially did a dye test by putting dye in the transmission. There is a little fluid coming out the main shaft seal on the transmission. They said it was minor and nothing to worry about, though I'm not so sure. I'm not sure if they replaced that seal when they did the clutch repair, though they put a clutch kit in it that cost $260 Pn 8781578? The bill shows they replaced the main enging seal but I don't know if that is the same thing.

My question is should they have replaced this "main shaft seal" as standard practice when they had the transmission out? A mechanic friend thinks they should have and they should be fixing my transmission leak now. He says it could get oil on my clutch plate and cause a problem at a later time. Anyone else had problems with this or can give me advice? I don't want to but may have to take the shop to court make them pay for the proper repairs but may have to. Am I right in this or is this oil leak just my bad luck. I would feel stupid paying again to fix this transmission after just spending almost a $1000 dollars.
Appreciate any help or advice.
