BOV vs BPVs is a long standing debate. Certainly BOVs sound very cool and are the fastest at relieving pressure, but they can accidentally allow your engine to ingest unfiltered air if they do not close fast enough. Similarly there have been complaints that BOVs with tired springs result in poor idling.
The argument a friend of mine gave me for retaining the BPV is that the diverted air actually gets sent back to the turbo, helping keep spool up during shifts and boost when you get back on it.
My friend has the Greddy S BOV that you mention and his car sounds totally dope. I'm running a 25mm Forge DV that's a lot quieter (audible thump). I regularly spank him when we race (on a closed course) but we don't know if this is because of the BOV/BPV debate or the other modifications we have done to the cars.
If you really want to make a statement with a BOV, get the TurboXS RFL BOV instead of the greddy (sorry its not purple). The RFL BOV is supposed to be over 100db loud.
