I had the same thing....exactly the same i mean. I have a 96 900s. Last major service i asked them to find out what is up. they did a tech 2 scan and said the computer has no abs error codes stored in it. so that meant the light came on every now and then, but that it wasn't due to a REAL abs problem. They said i would have to come in with the light ON for them to have any idea why it was on since the computer wasn't registering/storing any faults. Also they told me that nothing is actually wrong with the ABS, and even if it were, nothing is wrong with my brakes.
Still, I urge you not to take my experience as your own, since brakes are the most important feature in your car. Please be careful and have the problem looked at for yourself. Do you have any other reasons to be hooked up to a Tech II...do it all at once. Have your odometer or thermometer calibrated etc. Major service coming up?
Be safe. Check it out.
Tom.
