V6 plugs update: The great Bosch "Plug-off"->

Indeed, the owners manual specifies Bosch FR8LDC, .031" gap on the '95 V6, but NGK's for the other models of that fine vintage. I saved the old Bosch, and that's what the dealer had installed. The Bosch is two-prong, like the NGK I used, but the NGK gap is .032" As an homage to the few remaining '95 v6'ers out there, I will run the NGK's for a month, to see if the lower mpg keeps up, or if there are other problems, if so, then switch back to the Bosch, they're pretty cheap.
Will the difference in gap make a difference in performance, and if so, can I re-gap the two-prongers?
