Using a small wire, drill bit or tiny flat bladed screw driver determine the remaining threaded depth of the hole, if there is room, you may be able to use a longer bolt, just make sure it is not too long. You will need about 3/16" of good thread minimum to be able to apply torque needed. My guess is this probably will not work, but worth a try.
If you have hole depth, but not threaded you could deepen the threaded area with a thread tap. Be sure to use the tap correctly and it matches the OEM bolt thread pitch and diameter. You can get good quality metric taps at Sears.
If none of this works, the next two options (more difficult and risky if not done properly are to bore to next size diameter and tap for new bolt or helicoil insert.
Follow recommended torque values, and always make sure bolts and holes are clean before reassembly. Vacuum any chips out of hole using a ShopVac with a reducing nozzle.
Good luck.
