Earlier someone posted this excellent link on tire size/rim size changes:
http://www.secret-secret.com/turbo/DIY/tirecalc/turbotire.html
I have the 15 spoke 16x6.5" (from a 2000 9-3, though mine is a 1996 900s) rims sitting in my garage without tires on them, and I'd like to eventually put some tires on there and not have the speedo be too far off. I *thought* that all the 9-3s came from the factory with 205/55/16, so that's what i started looking at, but after using this calculator, the least error I could get was by putting in 205, 50, 16, not 55/16 as I thought was standard. then i saw others posting about 215??? can you put those wider tires on the 16x6.5s, if so why?
i *think* i should now go to 205/50/16 based on this data, but i haven't heard other saabies using those? are you out there?
my dream ride is like grand touring....kinda quiet, but kinda good for cornering. lower profile is cool to a point, and 50 is my cutoff :)
