Sunroof and window switches are sbject to water, coffee, coke, etc. intrusion which can corrode connectors or wreck the switch. I had the same issue. I used a small flatbladed screwdriver and pried up the front of the switch panel (also contains your window switches)

Disconnect the connectors and clean out any crud. Mine worked again once cleaned. If it doesn't you have to replace the whole panel as Saab does not sell the switch seperately (thats what I was told). Goldwing Saab, a Saab parts recycler, probably has them for half or less the price of a new one.

For the dulled panel, thouroughly clean and mask off the switches with 3M blue masking tape (will not leave residue like cheaper tapes do) get a piece of cardboard and spray paint the panel with a satin black finish. Remove tape and reinstall, looks like new again.

Now for the shift knob, if you can find the plate you can epoxy it back on in the center, keep glue away from the edges. If you have lost it you can buy the accessory leather shift knob from Saab for about 35.00, and replace it. It is a bit of a mess replacing these, but instructions come with the part. Or you can buy the original plastic one for about the same money. They also have a nice wood one for 50 bucks or so. Check out SAABCATALOG.COM.
