On my 9-5 M99 I did this as a DIY exercise - I think my report is somewhere in the depths of the 9-5 board. Its not too simple, but far from impossible. To the best of my knowledge, the design of the wiper system in the 900 is the same in principle so installation would be possible. As for the results, I am very happy about not having to shift the switch on and off, especially when there is no rain but the road is wet, and you are driving in town with a lot of traffic lights.
The system would be even more useful on a 900 which does not allow to set the intermittent wipe interval. It does not react to bugs, etc. At the same time, I noticed that its sensitivity is strongly affected by the outside temperature - e.g. on a cold day, the wipers would continue to wipe for some time even on a clean windscreen. Well, if that happens, you just switch it off as you would without the system.
Good luck,
Yury
