Hello,
I'm new to Saabs and need some input on the reliability and known issues associated with the 900 SE models. I'm considering buying a 1994 900 SE, 5 spd, V6, many extras. It has 107k miles, new clutch and brakes. It was very well maintained and not driven hard. It drives nice :-).
My questions for those of you who have experience with Saabs are:
1) Are the 1994 models good? My understanding is this is the first year for the NG models, so need I worry about problems with this model that were worked out in later years?
2) If these cars are well maintained, how many miles can you get out of one before there are major engine problems?
3) Are used Saabs reliable long, high mileage drives across the country?
3.5.) Any ideas on what types of repairs I might be looking at in the next 30k miles? What (if anything) tends to fall apart on these babies after 100k miles?
4) Any other pointers or tips are welcome.
5) The owner is thinking of asking ~$7500. On the high end of blue-book value. Does this sound reasonable?
Thanks for you time,
Todd
