For a basic MBC install...
You have to reduce the pressure to keep the pressure overshoot away from the fuel cut pressure. The overshoots will be higher in cold weather.
The MBC's pressure control will be at the turbo compressor scroll housing hose barb. Because of pressure drops across the intercooler and pipes, the pressure at the intake will drop with higher flow rates at high RPMs.
A pressure tap after the IC or IC core will reduce the drop but will increase overshoots.
You need to learn some new throttle techniques, these will affect things as well, and your need to adjust the MBC. Full throttle in 1st is impossible for most as there is more torque than traction.
95SET, Viggen IC, Sports exhaust, MBC, air box, K&N, no silencer, TBTC mod, TBC pressure from the TB and pop-off valve installed but more work to do on that.
