95 SE V6 Auto Conv, 70K miles
Replacement of catylist with straight pipe almost eliminated stumble. It also made a nice improvement in freeway acceleration from 60 to 100 (see mods :). QUESTION: Could this be a symptom of a blocked catalytic converter or is it originally too small? I can see through the honeycomb, and it appears to be in good order. Or could it be leaky injectors/FPR?
Engine has had trouble starting when cold for some time. The engine stumbles to reach 1800RPM then settles down to 1200RPM shortly. (It seems to be overly rich when cranking.) I've read the stumble is common to the V6?
I've replaced the CPU water temp sensor, plugs, wires, cleaned intake, and there are no vacuum leaks.
MODS:
Ram Air piping thru fog light hole
(Replaced fog lights with round driving lights near license plate)
Air cleaner box horn delete
K&N filter
MAF screen delete
TB coolant delete
Removed 1 spring on butterfly linkage (of 3!)
+4 plugs
Cat delete (temporary? - hål käftan, trä älskaren :)
Sport exhaust with center resonator retained
Replaced water/oil cooler with external 4 cyl cooler, with oil thermostat
Coming soon - homemade phenolic spacer for upper intake manifold
