The temperature sending units both wires goes into something called ICE = Integrated Central Electronics.
That is pretty much a computer that uses the signal for calculations and send it on its way to different users, gauge/cooling fan etc.
The temp gauge recives 1 power signal and 1 ground signal from Speedoclusters main board and a temp signal from ICE.
It's of highest importance that DIY uses a GOOD electrical diagram nowadays, otherwise it's a lot of head scratching.
I haven't seen neither a Bentley or a Haynes, but I highly doubt that they have the latest information when it comes to electric. Even the Saab books comes out with first and second and third editions now and then, and some crucial wires have changed color or pin location.
