Let's see time for some useless information-
The 1998 900S came with 195/60-15 tires on 6.5 x 15 inch rims resulting in a tire diameter of 24.21 inches.
The 1998 900SE came with 205/50-16 tires on 6.5 x 16 inch rims resulting in a tire diameter of 24.07 inches.
On my 1998 900SE, I use 205/55-16 tires on stock 6.5 x 16 inch rims resulting in a tire diameter of 24.88 inches with no problems.
Saab offered optional 215/45-17 tires on 7.5-8 x 17 inch rims resulting in a tire diameter of 24.62 inches. This was the tire size used on the Viggen.
Your best bet is to stay with the same size tire on all four wheels if you want to rotate the tires, without changing the feel and handling every time you rotate the tires.
So buy two 205/50-16 tires (preferably the same brand and type as the rear tires) for the front and you will be fine.
