I would say that the offer your friend gave you is not a lot cheaper than if you were to buy it from someone you dont know.

I have a 1998 4 door SE Turbo. Sport Exhaust, 6 Disc CD changer upgrade, K&N filter. 59k miles. I'm the only owner. Oil changed every 3000 miles. All services including oil changes done in the local Saab Service Center. All records available. Warrantygold (Platinum or Diamond whichever is the highest coverage) extended warranty to cover the car up to 100k miles or up to 6 years from now. I love my car and dont want to sell. I will probably think hard if someone offers me 16,500 or above. The difference between the S and the SE brand new is about 3k. You get the turbo, leather seats, sun roof, power seats, extra speakers and amp for the SE model. That in itself justifies the 3k difference. But if you look at my car, I also have the extended warranty that is worth close to 2k. So, that more than justifies the difference.

Bottom line is I think the deal you have is not that great. However, if you are doing your friend a favor then thats a different story.
