Hi.
I am new to Saabs, and have never really played around with any of my cars (there have not been that many of those and the last 2 were diesel anyway), so a big "pardon my ignorance"up front, and this is my first and hopefully not the last posting here as well.
So sorry if this is a stupid question but: is what people are calling the 'serpentine belt'....is that the timing belt? is this the only belt? i thought there was a timing CHAIN, not belt, and that the serpentine belt does something different (what, i don't know).
Also when should they each be changed? my car 1997 900s has 97,000 miles on it (i just bought it) and the records show that it had it's serp belt changed last couple months during a major service.
When next? what about the timing chain? etc.
Thank you,
James
