Also consider the Purolator PureOne filter.
You could use a can of engine flush to help remove accumulated dyno gunk. Follow the directions. Don't put any load on the engine after adding it. So you cannot drive up ramps after adding! The oil with the flush will also drain very well.
A few days prior to the change you could also add a product with claims to free up sticking rings and valves.
But that is optional, and by no means neccessary.
When you remove the oil filter, let oil drain from the filter mount for some time. After quite a while, an air lock will break and the oil flow will increase significantly for a while.
Don't extend the oil drain time for the first fill of synthetic, as it may be releasing deposits.
