My personal philosophy of the road Posted by mholveck [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: OT - middle-lane drivers, mark, Mon, 29 Jul 2002 10:18:09 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
My philosophy is this:
You can drive in whatever lane you want, however fast you want, unless there is someone else on the road of whom you must be considerate.
Especially with the middle lane. If there is someone catching up to you, and you're not passing the people in the right lane, then pull over. Once there's no one around again, it seems ok to drive wherever you want?
I even apply this to driving on back roads:
Because I know how annoying it is to have the person in front of you determine how fast you are allowed to go, whenever someone catches up to me and I can tell they'd like to go faster than I'm going (this almost never happens, mind you, but every once in a while . . .) I actually pull over, let them pass me, and then pull back on the road. I think it shows a lack of consideration when people drive very slowly and don't care about whether it annoys someone behind them. Especially the sub-speed limit people. It's not even against the law for me to be going faster than you! At least consider the feelings of the people behind you, instead of just what you want to do.
-My 28 cents, Thanks for letting me rant at you!
