When I got my 96 900 set the tan leather was very dried and dirty. I used Turtle Wax Leather Cleaner and Conditioner. The dirt came right off and the leather softened up a lot, even on the part of the driver's seat that had started to crack. You might want to try this on your steering wheel too. I was amazed how much dirt was blending into the black leather. Be careful not to use too much as it has a tendency to make the wheel a little slippery. Oh yeah, the stuff smells good too.
